Message from the OCYFL Board
All Towns
In traveling to games the
last two weeks it has come to our attention that we have a few problems that need to be fixed right away. Please read and
pass on to all of your Coaches. The excuse of not seeing this e-mail or not knowing will not be allowed. Its your job as contacts
to tell all of your people.
Number of People on the Sidelines
Every team is allowed 7 coaches only plus 2
water boys ( younger Kids not adults) on there sidelines. The Coaches MUST be in your team book, if not in the book then there
not on the sidelines. You can NOT add a Coach at anytime. This is the hole field not just between the 20s. Everyone
else is to be behind the fences or ropes if there's no fences. No one is to be in the end zone or anywhere else but behind
the fences. This is SERIOUS issue. Its a insurance thing and if someone gets hurt cause they are on the field they
will be the 1st to sue the league. Players get into the sidelines all the time. All Coaches are to be back behind the 2 yard
buffer zone and in between the 25s not past at anytime. This is a warning that from now on any town or team that
does not comply WILL FORFET the game. We are no longer playing around with this. I didn't know the rule is not a excuse,
your team FORFETS period. Your head Coach is responsible for his sidelines. OCYFL Board members & Officials are
allowed on the sidlines and do not count against any team, as they are insured through our insurance. PLEASE COMPLY now
as we do not want to take games away from teams, but we will .
Cheerleaders are to follow the same rules with the number
of Coaches on the sidelines. If caught not complying with the rules the teams they cheer for will forfeit the game. Please
let your Cheer coaches know this. Don't lose a game due to non-communication
If you have any questions
or comments please feel free to contact the OCYFL at anytime. Please do not make us take games away from kids cause the ADULTS
can not follow rules or VERY serious safety issues. Thanks for your support and time
